Sacha BOEY Speaks out about Playing for Cameroon.

French-born Sacha Boey has spoken concerning the chances of playing for the Cameroon  National team. The 22-year Old Galatassary defender is enjoying a fine season with the Istanbul giants, who are top of the Turkish league.

Sacha Boey was born to Cameroonian parents in Montreuil, France, and is eligible to play for Cameroon or France. He has represented France in U17, U18, and U20 categories but has yet to earn a Senior team call.

Current Cameroon manager Rigobert Song has made no secret of his wish to see Boey pull up the Indomitable Lions shirt, even going as far as setting a private meeting with Boey a few weeks back. 

The Indomitable lions' Manager was on a European tour with some of his backroom Staff members.

What did Boey say?

On playing for Cameroon, Sacha Boey told l'Equipe's Flavien Trésarrieu:

 "a few days ago, I ate with the Manager, and it went well. I am a binational. You've got to know that it's hard to make a choice. I have my future ahead of me. Cameroon is also my country, but I have never been there. I need to discover the country a little more and feel some connection; we will see". 

He said he would do his best to prepare for the "best possible scenario."

What Next for Sacha Boey and Cameroon?

Cameroonian fans hoping that Sacha Boey would follow other binationals like Christopher Wooh, Oliver Ntcham, and Ben Elliott in representing Cameroon will have a too wait a little longer. 

Next up for Sacha Boey is a game against Istanbul Besakehir in the Turkish Cup on April 5th, 2023, while the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon play Burundi in the last round of games for AFCON 2023 qualifiers on September 4th, 2023.
