Bafmeng United FC will represent the North West Region at the 2023 National Interpools after defeating Bangbullet FC 2 goals to 1 in the North West Regional League (NWRFL) Finals.
NWRFL: Bafmeng United FC emerges victorious in Regional Finals and books a ticket for National Interpools
The finals took place at the University of Bamenda Sports Arena.
In attendance were His Excellency, the Governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele L'Afrique, FECAFFOT President of the Northwest Mbigha Njah Felix, and a host of other officials personalities.
The game was played in a packed Stadium with no less than 1000+ football fans who came out to witness the spectacle.
The Game Itself
The encounter started with momentum on the side of Bangbullet. Cheered and Supported by the fans who showed up massively, the Nkambe boys had an edge over Bafmeng United, which eventually led to a goal in the 23rd minute, with main man Julian Pius with the goal.
Bangbullet held momentum until the 43rd minute when Bafmeng's Briand Atanga slammed the ball off the woodwork and into the net of Goalkeeper Gabriel Rene of Bangbullet to make it a draw at halftime.
The halftime team talks must have been eventful, as both teams entered the second half with renewed verve and determination.
In the 65th minute, Ahudu Lukong scored a goal for Bafmeng, which sent shock waves throughout the stadium, as it took time for the fans to process the goal before celebrations.
Coach Soh Simplis of Bafmeng used his tactical experience to keep his players at the defense line and use the counterattack.
Numerous efforts by the Nkambe boys to make it a draw proved futile. When Central referee Gabila Eugene blew the final whistle, Bafeng United went wild with celebrations as they had won the Northwest mini-interpools.
The menchum team is champion of the 2023 Edition of the North West Regional League and will represent the region in the National Interpools that will take place in Yaounde from the 15th to the 30th of July, 2023.

- Highest Goal scorer: Ngufor Terence (HSFA)
- Man of the Match: Bengal Parker (Bafmeng United)
Other awards were handed to the League's best match officials and technical assistants.
Governor Adolphe Lele used the Event to call on the North West population to stand by Bafmeng United regardless of their team and ethnicity.
He also appreciated President Mbigha Felix, his team, and his collaborators for organizing the best regional League of the season.

FECAFOOT Regional President Mbigha Felix assured Hippoinfos that the organization this season has been massive, and there is hope that Bafmeng United FC will sail through to Elite Two.
