Over the past four years, Cameroon has had just one representative in the CAF Champions League and the CAF Cup. 

Cameroon's memorable moments in the CAF Competitions have come through the famous Canon Sportif of Yaounde, who won two CAF Champions Leagues.

The poor performance of Coton Sport, who were eliminated in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League against AS Réal de Bamako this season, and Bamboutos de Mbouda's failure to make it to the CAF Confederations Cup due to inability to acquire CAF License, only made things worse for the country of Samuel Eto'o and Roger Milla.

For this reason, Cameroon is ranked. 14th below Sudan, Libya, and Ivory Coast in CAF's ranking of the best leagues in Africa.
