The game played in an empty Dobsonville stadium, started with the two teams exchanging blows in the opening stages with no cutting edge.

Namibia was the more enterprising of the two teams, forcing the Cameroon defense to commit errors in dangerous areas.

Namibia was more determined in the first half and was well on top after the restart. The pressure paid off when Shalulile pounced on a poorly handled shot by Epassy to put the Warriors one up.

The Cameroonians looked leggy after the second goal and kept giving the ball away in the middle of the park. Namibia earned a freekick on the edge of Cameroon's 18-yard box, which Absolom Limbondi converted emphatically.

The Lions cranked up the pressure, but it was too little too late. A consolation goal came in the 90th minute through Vincent Aboubakar, a come-back was not to be, as minnows Namibia held on to record a historic victory.

It will be a winner-takes-all affair when Cameroon faces Burundi in September. A draw will be enough to take the lions through, while defeat will mean elimination for the  5 -times African Champions. The question on everyone's lips is whether Rigobert Song will be in the dugout for that game.

The Cameroon manager's record now reads one win in nine since he took over the reins of the National team.
