The President of Cameroon's Football Federation, Samuel Eto'o Fils, appointed Engelbert Mbarga as the new Technical Director. The newly appointed official had been occupying this post on an interim basis since the sacking of the previous Technical director in December 2023.
Engelbert Mbarga Appointed New Technical Director
The new technical director will oversee the development and growth of Cameroon's national technical football policy with the aim of optimizing the competitiveness of Cameroonian football from the grassroots right up to the elite level.
Engelbert Mbarga, 60years of age, has served as a former Canon of Yaounde player (1980-1985), pioneer youth trainer at the Cameroon Brasseries Football school (1989), 3 participations in the Junior World Cup, and 4 participations in the CAN junior as an assistant coach, coach of the U17 and U20 national teams.
Engelbert Mbarga was the second assistant coach for Cameroon when the country won the Olympic games in the year 2000
He takes over from Serge Noah, whose mandate ended in March 2023 through sacked in December 2022.
