Three International Games to be Played in Cameroon This June

The games that will be played between the 14th and 18th of June involve two AFCON qualifying games and one friendly game.

  • Uganda Vs. DR Congo (CAF friendly)
  • Central African Republic Vs. Angola (AFCON 2023 QUALIFIER)
  • Uganda Vs. Algeria  (AFCON 2023 QUALIFIER)

Which games have been programmed to take place in Cameroon?

The friendly game between Uganda and DR Congo will be played on June 14th at the Japoma Stadium in Douala,  while Uganda and Algeria will face off on the 18th at the same Venue.

The AFCON qualifying game between the Central African Republic and Angola will be played at the Bepanda Omnisport Stadium on June 17th, 2023.

Why Are The Indomitable Lions Not Involved in AFCON Qualifiers This Month?

The AFCON qualifiers are in full swing, as most teams will be engaged in qualification matches all over the continent. However, the indomitable Lions of Cameroon will not be involved in this round of games as their opponents, Kenya, were disqualified from the qualifying tournament due to what CAF termed "political interference" in the running of football in that Country.

What Next for the Indomitable Lions?

The indomitable Lions will resume their AFCON qualification campaign in September with a do-or-die game against Burundi. The match will be the final group game and will determine whether Cameroon qualifies for AFCON 2023, to be held in the Ivory Coast next year. Cameroon currently sit second in Group C with four points.

The Lions face Mexico on June 10th in a Friendly encounter to be played at the recently opened Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, California.
