National Interpools 2023: Semi-Finals Preview!

The Semi-Final stage of the National Interpools will be played on July 27th, 2023, at the Ngoa-Ekele and Olembe Annex 1 Stadiums in Yaoundé with four teams on the hunt for 2 tickets into the  MTN Elite  TWO Championship.

National Interpools 2023: Preparations Heightened as Four Teams Tussle For Elite Two Tickets

Bafmeng United Football Academy, Isle of Hope Sports Academy, Pouma FC, and Volcan Du Noun FC qualified from Group A and Group B and will be battling out for the two available tickets into ELITE TWO.

With Preparations ongoing and fans paving their way into the Capital city to witness the Semis, we take a look at each teams journey and the odds for qualification into the MTN ELITE TWO CHAMPIONSHIP. 

1. Isle of Hope Sports Academy Limbe (ISOHSA)

Isle of Hope Sports Academy Limbe are the Champions of the South West Regional League.

Drawn in group A alongside Volcan du Noun, Sporting FC of Maroua, Academie Nyom II and Union Sportif D'Abong Bang.

ISOHSA negotiated the group stages unbeaten ,registering two wins and two draws, earning a total of 8 points and qualifying as group winner.

ISOHSA has displayed good mettle, mixing entertainment and steel to emerge as one of the favorites to gain promotion. 

The team has had an extra boost from fans, including financial and moral support from Elites of the South West region.

Notably, one million FRS CFA donated by Members of the Southwest Regional Assembly and three million Frs donated by the Prime Minister who hails from the South West region. 

The general manager of the Limbe Seaport and Mayor of Limbe city council were also amongst the high profile personalities who visited the team's camp and offered some support.

Coach Ashu Brice's boys are motivated to go all the way.  the man to watch for ISOHSA is Albert Tiku Egbe " Treasure of South West Region, who has scored 2 crucial goals for ISOHSA in 4 games played. 

2. Volcan FC Du Noun 

Volcan FC of Noun emerged as champions of the West Region and were equally drawn into Group A. 

Volcan qualified second in group A, after picking up two wins, a draw, and a defeat in four games. 

The Orange Strikers were motivated by a remarkable group of fans who transported themselves in trucks and displayed artistic performances on the streets of Yaoundé. 

The fanfare was appreciated by most, including FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto'o who applauded them on Instagram.

3. Bafmeng United Football Academy

Bafmeng United Football Academy are the reigning champions of the Northwest region of Cameroon. 

Commonly known as the "Ndughem spear", BUFA qualified top of group B, after picking up 9 points from 3 wins and 1 defeat. 

Soh Simplis' boys were motivated by the massive influx of fans from the North West led by His Excellency the Governor of the North West Region Adolphe Lelé L'Afrique and President of FECAFOOT North West Mbigha NjahFelix. 

Football fans will be expected to witness the marvel of veteran goalkeeper Leonard Ngam and the amazing performances of Sonde Atoh Divine, Enah Ashu Toda, and Brian Atangana. 

4. Pouma Football Club 

Pouma FC came into the National Interpools as champions and representatives of Littoral. Drawn in Pool B, the Yellow Tacticians registered two wins, draw 1, a solitary defeat, finishing second in group B with 7 points. 

Pouma FC will hope that the technical abilities of El Kaduri Njomoluh and Steve Stanis will come to the fore, as they face the Group A winners, ISOHSA of Limbe. 

National Interpools 2023 Semi Final Fixtures 

ISOHSA vs Pouma FC (27th July 2023, Olembe Stadium Annex 1 @3pm)

Bafmeng United FC vs Volcan du Noun (27th July 2023, Ngoa Ekele Stadium @3pm)

The winners of the two semi final games will gain automatic qualification into the Elite Two Championship.

The final game of the National Interpools will be played on Sunday, 30th July 2023.
