Faris Moumbagna Celebrates Indomitable Lions Call Up with a Brace!

Faris Pemi Moumbagna, recently included in Cameroon's list of players to face Mauritius Island and Libya, has celebrated his call-up with a brace against Besiktas in the UEFA Conference League.

The 23-year-old, who has been in sensational form since signing for Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt, opened the scoring in the 38th minute against Vincent Aboubakar's Besiktas.

Faris doubled his side's lead with a well-taken goal after an excellent pass from Amahl Pellegrino four minutes into the second half before giving way in the 85th minute as his teammates saw out a crucial 2-1 win in matchday 4 of the Europa Conference league.

The win takes the Norwegian League leaders to second in Group D with two games left. 

Bodo/Glimt will be confident of making it out of the group, needing just two points from their remaining games. 

Faris Moumbagna continues his red-hot form and will be licking his lips with crucial games on the horizon. It was his 3rd goal in 4 UEFA Conference League games this season.

He will be confident of making the cut when Rigobert Song announces his squad for the Africa Nations Cup, which is just two months away.

In the other European games played this evening, fellow Cameroonian striker Frank Magri was on the scoresheet for Toulouse as they edged European giants Liverpool by 3 goals to 2 in the UEFA Europa League in France.

Another Cameroonian, Jerome Mbekeli, was on the losing side as Servette FC of Switzerland beat Sheriff Tiraspol 2-1 in Group G of the UEFA Europa League.

What's Next?

Faris Moumbagna and Bodo/Glimt will be back in action on Sunday, November 12th, as they face Aalesund in the Norwegian Eliteserien before linking up with his Cameroonian teammates for the World Cup qualifying games on the 17th and 21st of November.

Frank Magri and Toulouse will be in action against the high-flying Lille as they look to end three consecutive defeats in Ligue 1.

Before the international break, Jerome Mbekeli and the FC Sheriff traveled to FC Floresti in the Moldovan League. 

All three players will link up for National team duty as Cameroon faces Mauritius Island and Libya in FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
