FECAFOOT to Organize First-ever Youth Tournament in 2023

The Cameroon football federation, FECAFOOT, is set to organize the first ever Youth tournament in the weeks ahead.

A communique published on the FECAFOOT official website indicated that the tournament would run from 31^st March to 22^nd April. Youth football development is one of the major objectives of the current executive council headed by African football Legend Samuel Eto’o Fils.

According to the communique signed by the FECAFOOT Secretary General, Blaise DJOUNANG, the competition will run in two phases:

• The Preprimary phase, which will be at the level of the Divisions and Regions, will run from 31^st March to 22^nd April.
• The final stage will run from the 2^nd to the 7^th of May in a City yet to be announced.
• Competitors must not be above 18 years of age. (Born on or after 1st March 2005).

The amateur competition, whose main objective is the detection of football talents at a young age, will be the first of its kind organized by the country’s football federation.
