How Many Different Football Leagues Are There In Cameroon?
Football Leagues in Cameroon are divided into three tiers (divisions); Professional, Semi-professional, and Amateur.
In fact, since the inception of League Football in Cameroon, there have been 17 different winners of the Cameroon league, with Coton sport of Garoua having the most titles (18), followed by Canon of Yaounde (10).
Union Of Douala and Oryx Douala come third with 5 titles apiece.
1. The Professional Leagues
There are two Professional Leagues in Cameroon;
- The MTN ELITE ONE CHAMPIONSHIP
As of the 2022/23 football season, the MTN ELITE ONE CHAMPIONSHIP was composed of 22 teams, at the end of which 5 were relegated. The top two teams qualified for CAF continental competitions. - The MTN ELITE TWO CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2022/23 Season Of the MTN ELITE TWO CHAMPIONSHIP started with 15 teams, but 4 of those teams were expelled for various reasons leaving a total of 11 teams at the end of the season. The top two teams were promoted to the MTN ELITE ONE CHAMPIONSHIP.2. Semi-Professional Leagues
The semi-professional Leagues are supervised by the Regional Offices of Fecafoot. There are 10 semi-professional leagues in Cameroon:
