Transfer News: Cameroonian Midfielder Targeted by English Premier League Club Brighton

Premier League Club Brighton and Hove and Albion have submitted a bid for Cameroonian footballer Carlos Baleba who plays for Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille.

The transfer was first reported by renowned sports journalist Fabrizio Romano on Monday, August 14, 2023. 

The Cameroonian midfielder came through the ranks of the 2021 French Champions and was integrated into the first team for the 2022/23 season. 

19-year-old Carlos Baleba, who started for Les Dogues in their 1-1 opening-day draw against OGC Nice, is being targeted as a replacement for Chelsea - bound Moises Caicedo.

Brighton has made an opening bid of  16 million Euros with personal terms already agreed with the 2004-born midfielder. 

Baleba is a former Cameroon U17 International, but has yet to debut for the Indomitable Lions, Cameroon Senior National Football Team. 

He joined Lille from the Brasseries Football Academy in January 2022 and plays as a Central midfielder.
