The Victory means Lekie FF has dominated Women's football in the country this football season after lifting their first-ever Guinness Super League title a couple of months ago.

Goals from Ngah Manga and Raissa Nnanga saw the girls of coach Ndzana Stephane overcome AS Fortuna in an engaging final at the Annex 1 of the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium on Sunday.

It was a game of two halves as each team put in maximum effort.

The first half was completely dominated by Lekie Filles, who took advantage through 19-goal Ngah Manga to open the scoring and Raissa Nnanga converting from the spot to give the league Champions a well-deserved lead after 20 minutes.

The Second half was the complete opposite of the first, with AS Fortuna dominating proceedings, mounting numerous attacks against Lekie FF, with goalkeeper Marthe Ongmahan equal to the task.

The Yaounde-based club held on to record a historic league and cup double in the first season in the top division.

At the end of the game, Coach Catherine Mbengono of AS Fortuna said: "We wanted to make up for the season after finishing seventh in the Guinness Super League. But that didn't happen".

Focus Turns to the CAF Champions League Qualifiers

After finishing as champions of Cameroon, Lekie FF will now switch their attention to the CAF Women's Champions League Qualifiers, where they will compete in the UNIFFAC sub-regional zone against teams from Equatorial Guinea, the Central African Republic, Gabon, and Chad.

Lekie FF will be looking to improve on the performance of Cameroon's two previous representatives, both of whom failed to qualify from the UNIFFAC sub-regional zone, first in 2020 (Louves Minproff), and 2021(Awa FF)
