In the second leg, played at the Cairo International Stadium, Al Ahly dominated the first half, creating many chances that were not taken, as Simba SC opted to sit back and rely on counterattacks.

The second half of the game proved exceedingly challenging for the Tanzanians as the Red Devils of Al Ahly dictated proceedings, but Simba SC kept their tactical discipline.

Simba SC took the lead through Sadio Kanoute in the 68th minute. Still, Al Ahly held on and equalized moments later in the 76th minute through Mahmoud Abdelmonem Kharaba before celebrating their comprehensive victory.

The Egyptian giants Al Ahly secured their place in the African Football League semi-finals on Tuesday after a 1-1 home draw against Simba SC that saw them qualify on away goals.

The score of the game ended 3-3 after the two-leg quarter-finals allowed the Egyptian team to secure the first semi-final place in the history of the Pan-African competition.

After 11 CAF championship titles, Al Ahly continues to chart the course at the top of the continent by closing in on two victories in its history.
