Jean Baptiste Bisseck Calls 23 Home-Based Players As Lionesses Prepare For Uganda Double header

The list, which was released on Monday, October 9th, 2023, by Cameroon's Football Federation's communication department, is made exclusively of players who play for different clubs in Cameroon's prestigious professional women's football league dubbed Guinness Super League.

The list includes new comers Tim Shalom Nakoma of Authentic Ladies and Buh Confidence of Amazone FAP who will train alongside Tabe Brenda, Raissa Nnanga, Bridgette Yvana, Marie Giselle Ngah, who who were part of the Lionesses squad that faced Kenya last month.

Although several of these players have appeared on Coach Jean Baptiste's list on several occasions, they have yet to make their national team debut. 

Marie Giselle made her Cameroon debut in the AWCON qualifications game against Kenya last month.

The pre-selected squad, will be cut in the coming days to include players who ply their trade in Clubs abroad before the games in Douala and Kampala, Uganda.

Cameroon, who failed to qualify for AWCON 2024 , will be looking to bounce back with better results this time around.

A victory in this tie will secure passage to the next qualification round as the Lionesses search for their first Olympic games qualification ticket since 2012. 

The girls of Coach Jean Baptiste Bisseck will play the first leg of the FIFA qualifications for the 2024 Paris Olympics on October 26th in Kampala. 

The return leg will take place five days later in Douala. 

The winner of this tie will face either Ethiopia or Nigeria in the third qualifying round. 

Coach Jean Baptiste Bisseck's pre-selected players, as well as the five reserve home-based Guinness Super League players, are slated to begin preparations on Tuesday, October 10th, 2023.
