MTN ELITE ONE: Astres Vs. Dynamo Lights Up Match Day Two

The focus was on the economic capital derby between Astres De Douala and Dynamo de Douala, and both teams didn't disappoint, serving the public with a 5-goal thriller.

The Brazilians of Bepanda were looking to upset the odds against the big-spending Dynamo side, who put on an underwhelming performance on match day one with a dour draw against AS Fortuna de Mfou.

It was an emotional occasion for the Bon Ba Djob, who paid tribute to Legendary Captain Njee "Tresor" Marius, who passed on to glory a few days ago.

Yves Clement Arroga and his boys were looking to give their former Captain a proper farewell with a win over their city rivals, Astres.

But it was Astres who opened the scoring, with attacker Jules Kooh firing the Brazilians ahead after just two minutes of play.

Dynamo responded well and took the game to their opponents, and the pressure paid off when Leonel Ateba leveled affairs with a well-taken goal on the hour mark.

It was the Dynamo's first goal in the top flight after a 25-year absence. Historic!

Dynamo continued to apply the pressure. Two goals in the 10 minutes, first from Benjamin Louke and then Joseph Momasso, meant they took a comfortable 3-1 lead to the break.

The Second half was much more tentative as Dynamo the Douala looked to seal victory and take all three points, but an 89th-minute goal from Astres ensured that the game had a nail-biting finish.

Jules Kooh scored his and Astre's second to take his tally to three goals after two games. Still, it wasn't to be, as Clement Arroga sealed Dynamo's first victory on an emotional afternoon for the legendary football club.
