Gazelle FA defeated Union FC of Douala to earn their first three points of the season after beating Union of Douala in matchday One of the 2023/2024 MTN Elite One Season.
The visitors registered a vital win over the hosts in a one-nil victory at the Mbappe Leppe Stadium in Douala on Thursday.

The encounter started a few minutes after 4 pm with both teams aiming to start the season with a win in a packed Mbappe Leppe Stadium.
Both teams had an equal share of possession during the first 15 minutes of the encounter although Union struggled to get quality balls into the box in timid opening quarter of the game.
The Nasara Kamakai, pushed on by the excellent support from home fans managed to get a few tame efforts on Gazelle's goal.

At the start of the second half, both teams failed to capitalize on their half chances, but it was Gazelle who looked more likely to break the deadlock.
Veteran Striker Yougouda Kada scored in this fixture last season, and the emblematic captain repeated the trick with 10 minutes of regular playing time left, scoring a diving header after fine work from his Younger brother Kouglon Kada.
The goal sent shock waves across Unions technical area while the pocket of fans of the team from Garoua went into absolute frenzy.
Despite the efforts to balance the deficit, Union head coach Juenie Nguegom and his boys were unable to get past a resolute Gazelle defense.
The Victory puts last years play off Semi finalists at the top of Pole A, while union will go in search of their first points when they face Colombe du Dja et Lobo on Sunday 8th September.
Gazelle will return to Garoua where they prepare to face last season's runners up Bamboutos De Mbouda on the same day.
